National Forest and Wilderness

Leavenworth is surrounded by the Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest, and the Alpine Lakes, Henry M. Jackson, and Glacier Peak Wilderness areas are nearby. The Icicle River drainage (follow Icicle Road to the south and then west of Leavenworth), with many trailhead parking areas, is the popular start of many Alpine Lakes Wilderness adventures.

"Recreation Central"

The Lake Wenatchee area, the town of Plain, and the Glacier Peak Wilderness is north of Leavenworth. And don't forget Fish Lake! Whether you're into fishing, snowmobiling (see the trail map, below), hunting, hiking, climbing, camping, cycling, the list goes on...it's all here.
